    On March 31 of 2019, the joint laboratory of the automobile millimeter wave radar which is developed by KUS Group and Xidian University was officially established. Let us introduce the 1st joint laboratory of KUS Group.

    Strong alliance, Work together for win-win

    KUS Group

    KUS Group, Chinese well-known sensor supplier, has more than 70 well-known OE manufacturers worldwide supply qualification, developed the first reed switch level sensing technology, dedicated in automotive sensing technology for more than 30 years. With nearly 2 billion annual value of production, KUS products are widely applied in the world. We have built up our differentiated competitive advantages by improving production and R&D technology, clear market positioning, stable marketing channels, and efficient sales management system.

    Xidian University

    Xidian University was formerly known as "Western Military Power", has a long history and many masters gather, the highest military telecommunications technology institute in the military. It has created many firsts in the field of electronics and information technology in China, and has several national key laboratories, such as the Key Laboratory of Radar Signal Processing, and the Key Laboratory of Antenna and Microwave Technology. It has profound accumulation in radar signal processing and radar antenna design and has many academic and application achievements. It has been selected as a national innovative talent training model base, and is the cradle of many professionals in the radar industry such as radar experts.

    Team Introduction
    Professor Wu (Member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics; Vice Chairman of the Radar Branch; Chairman of the IEEE AESS Beijing Branch);
    Professor Liao (Doctoral Supervisor, National-level Candidate for Talent Projects in the New Century, Cheung Kong Scholar Distinguished Professor, Ministry of Education, Dean of School of Electronic Engineering)
    Professor Zhang (Doctoral Supervisor, Deputy Director of Laboratory, Deputy Director of Institute of Electronic Engineering, IEEE Member)
    Professor Luo (Doctoral Supervisor, Signal Processing Expert)

    Dialogue with our Chairman:

    Q:What is the special significance of the KUS 1st joint laboratory of automotive millimeter wave radar at headquarter?

    A: At present, there is no large-scale mass production of domestic automotive radars. In the context of "everyone has the opportunity, all of them are not sure", the joint laboratory has four aspects of significance:

    1. Responding to President Xi’s strategic layout of science and technology, “rejuvenating the country by enhancing science and education, integration of military and civilian”

    2. Enhancing the international competitiveness of domestic automotive radar

    3. Prioritize the transformation of scientific research results, give enterprises priority in inputting R&D talents, and solve the difficulties encountered in R&D

    4. As the first master's degree program for engineering, firstly complete the theoretical study in the school, and then complete the research and papers in the enterprise, so that the industry and education are integrated and seamlessly connected, which is more conducive to cultivating talents that meet the needs of the society.

    Q: The future development trend of the vehicle is “Electrical, intelligent, networking, and lightweight”. What can KUS provide for autonomous driving in the intelligent field? What are your expectations for the joint lab?

    A:Providing the latest, high-precision automotive radar for the “10-year plan for the next future trip”. Let’s expect KUS Group to become an international first technology gradient, lay a new industry territory and contribute to future driving.
